Professor Ho Jin Ryu of KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) has been honored with the *Seah-Haiam Award* presented by the Korea Institute of Metals and Materials. This prestigious award is given to researchers who have made significant contributions to the field of advanced materials through academic achievements. On Oct. 30, 2025, at the Kim Dae-Jung Convention Center in Gwangju, Professor Ryu received this award in recognition of his outstanding research and innovative contributions to the high temperature structural materials, particularly in high entropy alloys, ODS (Oxide Dispersion Strengthened) alloys, and additive manufacturing. 

 

Haiam is derived from “해암,” the pen name of the late Honorary Chairman Jong-Deok Lee, founder of the SeAH Group. The Seah-Haiam Academic Scholarship Foundation is a public-interest organization established to carry on the founding spirit of the SeAH Group, supporting both scholarship and academic research activities.
